This is a whole new kind of post for me. It started out with me wanting to share a simple natural cleaning recipe. One you can make instead of buying something more expensive, and possibly with questionable ingredients. I will include that recipe for orange scented natural cleaning below. But for now, what's with "Just Be?"
Well, I thought of you. It was during my devotional time, reading through another mother's wish for her son in Proverbs 31. Maybe you feel as pulled in multiple directions as I do; the house could use some cleaning now that we are indoors more, got to stick to the plan and get that gym session in, "what's for dinner tonight," etc. And I was shocked. I paused asked to hear some message from the Spirit, and was truly amazed to hear, "Just Be." At this point in my devotionals, I am going to confess, I usually devolve into my To Do list. The wrangle myself back and repeat. Today I felt calm and peace. That is what I am hoping for you today. Truly.
Now, on to the quick cleaning tip follow up. Two of Temptation Aromas signature scents came to us from our travels. But then the heart of our business became bringing them to people in the cleanest, most healthy formulas. The pandemic affected a great many things. It certainly made us focus on ways to keep our environments germ free or closer to it. Maybe you have been looking for ways to limit the harsh chemicals and save the anti-bacterial sprays for the occasional jobs. If so, we have one great smelling, easy, inexpensive option for you.
Recipe
1-2 cups orange peel (including the pith) - you may substitute clementine, tangerine, whatever you like.
1/2 gallon household white vinegar - I used the industrial strength
Place these two items in a covered glass container for two weeks. Strain the liquid. Then divide it into 100% strength in one spray bottle undiluted. This is for tough stains, or cases where you have a concern about such things as cleaning the counter after meat preparation, or the toilet bowl (see study in Journal of Food & Science 2008). In the second spray bottle, fill the bottle 60% with water (can be distilled, plain or filtered), and then top off with the orange vinegar. This one is for everyday cleaning, mopping, I have seen it used to either re-dampen dried out wet wipes, to make your own.
Orange oil repels ants. It is toxic to them and masks their trail.
