Hey there, my fellow fragrance enthusiasts!

I love fragrance for myself and for my man. As you may already be aware, fragrance can be a commonly harmful component of a skin care routine. It is best to use natural fragrance whenever possible from reputable companies. Mass-produced colognes, lotions, and air fresheners are a few of the places to use caution. You can see our previous blog post on phthalates to catch up on that.

Now, let's talk about finding healthy skincare options for the men in our lives. We all know that men can be resistant to complex skincare routines, but finding products they'll actually enjoy using can make a big difference.

One of the most helpful resources I've discovered is the Environmental Working Group (EWG). They have an incredible app that allows you to scan the barcode on your current products to see how they rate for healthy use.

Pro Tip: The only catch is it can be hard for smaller brands to get their products through the EWG's rigorous evaluation process. Temptation Aromas is working through the process to get listed!

In the meantime, I've found this EWG article on Safer Skin Care For Men to be a fantastic starting point. It provides valuable information on ingredients to avoid and offers some excellent suggestions for healthy alternatives.

Here are a few tips to get your man on board with a healthier skincare routine:

  • Keep it simple: Start with the basics – a gentle cleanser, a moisturizer, and maybe a sunscreen.

  • Focus on results: Highlight how good his skin will feel and look with a simple routine.

  • Choose products with a masculine scent: Look for products with subtle, natural scents like sandalwood, cedarwood, or citrus.

  • Make it a shared experience: Explore the world of natural skincare together and enjoy the process of finding the perfect products for him.

Remember, finding the right skincare routine is a journey, not a destination. Be patient, have fun, and most importantly, prioritize his health and well-being.

I hope this helps! Let me know in the comments if you have any other tips or questions.
